First factory route

Sandustry Beginner Guide

Your first hour in Sandustry is less about reaching a perfect layout and more about learning which parts of the world can be made predictable. Start with one resource, one route and one output.

Your first session

1. Watch the material

Before building a huge line, observe how loose sand, water and nearby terrain move. The simulation is part of the tutorial.

2. Build one short route

Use a conveyor to move a small, known input to one processing step. Keep the first line compact enough to rebuild.

3. Separate input and output

Give raw resources, processing and finished output their own space. This makes clogs and missing inputs easy to see.

4. Explore between expansions

Use the early factory to fund a short expedition. New materials, structures and artifacts can change the next production goal.

Early mistakes to avoid

Best starting rule: make one small loop that works, then copy its logic only after you understand why it works.
